I'm dedicating this half marathon to my beloved grandmother who bravely battled Alzheimer's.

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.

Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

My Progress

In my pursuit of the half-marathon, I'm following the tried and tested Hal Higdon's Intermediate Plan 1. For those curious about my progress, I'm sharing my Strava stats live on my website. My primary goal? To cross the finish line. But, I'm also striving to complete the race within 2.5 hours.

Update 3

Hello everyone, huge thank you for all your donations and support. I am proud to say we smashed the donation goal, raising lots for a good cause!

Its been a fun journey for me and I am happy to say I hit my target time of 2hrs 30mins, with a little to spare.

Donations are open for another week, if anyone else wishes to contribute to Alzheimer Society.

Thank you all, I hope I have made my nan proud.

Update 2

A week to go until the half marathon, I want to thank everyone for their support and kind words, you have helped raise money for a great cause and kept me motivated.

Training has been going well and Im very happy with how far I've come as someone who was never a runner. Its going to be a tough challenge but one I am prepared for!

If you havent already, please consider making a donation. If you have donated please share this post and spread the word to help Alzheimers Society and those affected

Update 1

This week I started my 12 week intensive half marathon program. I managed to hit my goal of running 5km before this week, which set me up nicely. This has been a great milestone for me considering I couldn't run 1km without being out of breath in March, and my parents have told me as a kid I cried when forced to do an 800m race for sports day!

Looking forward to the half marathon and continuing to push myself. Every run motivates me knowing I am supporting a great charity and those impacted by Alzheimer's and their families
